From Cross Cancer Institute (March, 2009):
“Thank you for providing such a worthwhile and totally entertaining session. What a good choice! We all intuitively know how important humor and laughter are and it was wonderful to hear about it in this way. I loved it. My funny bone is still tingling.”
“What a wonderful speaker. When are you inviting him again?”
“I was energized for the rest of the day and got so much work done. Thanks for bringing Billy to our facility”.
” Just what we needed in this economy and in this facility where sometimes there is not a lot to laugh about. But we can help those we are caring for better if we get some joy and laughter in our own lives. Thanks a bunch”.
“Fantastic speaker – really loved the session”
“I must say, it was very difficult to come down to earth on Sunday after Saturday! I have to tell you that I have been carrying a “monkey on my back” for two years – I removed it on Monday morning!!! Yeah!!! Saturday was absolutely a “life changing” day for me. The comments from our team have been amazing. Is thank you appropriate? Thank you.”

“An evaluation summary for the Alberta Medical Association’s Staff Retreat held on June 1, 2007, confirmed your interactive presentation was a big success. Of those that attended your session 88% were satisfied or very satisfied. The message I received from the AMA Retreat Committee was that you were fantastic and this was supported by the comments provided in the evaluations. Below are three that the AMA provided me:
‘Outstanding, interactive, and relevant to work and life. I particularly like the portion on perspective.’
‘Everyone seemed to get in the mood and participate. It demonstrated a great group dynamic – especially the laughing session. He got everyone involved and clearly conveyed the importance of laughter and not taking ourselves too seriously.’
‘This presentation was excellent. Humor has a place in the workplace and he presented in a fun participatory way.’
I will continue to recommend you to any of our corporate clients in need of a dynamic and entertaining speaker that presents on a topic that is interesting and meaningful and encourages fun group interaction.”

“It has been several days since your remarkable workshop at the closing plenary of Society of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, and it is still in the forefront of my happy post-conference memories. I am *so* grateful to you for sharing your talents with us!”
Barb Bloemhof, Ph.D., McMaster University
“I just wanted to let you know that feedback from your presentation has been overwhelmingly positive and vocal J I have had people call me and visit me in my office to tell me how much fun they had and how glad they were that they got to participate. One said that she laughed so hard that she cried, and even one week after the fact still giggles when she thinks about the seminar. The same person has requested that we have you at the library every month! You have created a lot of buzz here in Leduc- thank you!”
Angela Binnie, Information & Adult Services Coordinator, Leduc Public Librar
“Your presentation was terrific – everyone enjoyed the laughter session! I am positive you will receive many referrals to committees who plan our larger group conferences. Thank you again and have yourself a ha-ha-happy day!!!”
Lila Clarke, Alberta Employment, Immigration and Industry
“Just a great evening of fun and laughter facilitated by you on Monday night. Those in attendance benefited greatly, so much so that I was greeted by more than one “belly laugh” the next day when entering the change room in preparation for Exercise Class. I got a lot of positive comments from the group, and truthfully, was quite pleased and amazed at how well everyone joined in so energetically. That, of course, was due largely to your approach and personality. You’ve got a good thing going that in my opinion has wide application and benefit that cuts across various age groups and folks in all walks of life – students, employees, management, administrators, et al. coping with in today’s frenetic world… keep on keeping on!
We thank you for your time and generosity in helping us get back in touch with our sometimes “hidden child”.”

Dr. Strean is a very dynamic and amazing presenter. His messages of laughter and happiness were well received (and needed) by our staff at Childhaven. The “staff” I speak of are Therapeutic Childcare Workers and Case Managers. We work with children ages one month to five years. Childhaven children and families are at risk, or have a history of, abuse and/or neglect. All of our staff had only positive evaluations of Billy’s presentation, even a couple of our most difficult to reach staff wrote that they felt his training was valuable. This is a quote from one of our staff…. Note to Billy: ‘I want to thank you for giving me permission to participate within my “comfort zone”. I think you noticed that I sat out of some activities and I want to assure you that it wasn’t that you “lost me” or due to negativity. I appreciate not feeling pressured and, in fact, I think I got a lot more out of it because I didn’t feel forced. Namaste!’
Even though the training was almost a year ago, I hear staff talking about ideas they learned from his training.
I personally smile when I think about Billy’s nuggets of wisdom, and remind myself to laugh often. Attending his workshop was a first step into helping me look at the really good things in life with intentionality”
