Testimonials
People ask me what I got from coaching with Billy and the most truthful answer is ” I owe him my life”. Working with Billy allowed me to discover a bigger version of myself, design a bigger life, dare to move towards it and get it! Today I am deeply fulfilled in my life, living more joyfully, purposefully, and intentionally. I am aware of my own personal strengths, dare to dream, value myself and use the coaching skills Billy shared with me in all areas of my life.
Billy always encouraged me to discover my own solutions, championed me and provided fresh and challenging perspectives. Billy is intuitive, and he knew when to push me, when to call me on my stalling and when to simply be with me. I had many ‘aha’ moments in my life working with Billy, and he succeeded in getting me to breakthrough where no other method had ever worked! One of the secrets to his successful coaching, is his deep personal commitment to coaching and genuine belief in his clients’ potential. Billy always saw my possibilities even when I couldn’t.
His style is also always fun, his enthusiasm is contagious and he excels at experiential coaching- even by phone! I’d always leave a coaching session energized and rejuvenated. Working with Billy was the best investment I have ever made for myself.

I hired Billy Strean because of his strong credentials and a great short sample call. What kept me as a client for many months is a potpourri of qualities including his real life wisdom, ethics, humor, humility and great thinking.
Billy’s soft-spoken style contrasts with his no holding back line of powerful questioning. He points out connections and patterns amidst seemingly disparate scenarios. Billy created just the right greenhouse environment for me to grow personally and professionally at a speed I would not have achieved independently.
There’s a lot of coaching going on out there in the world but Billy is the kind of top quality coach that everyone hopes to stumble upon.

The thing about working with Billy is that he’s always there, pushing you just a bit, to look at things in a whole new way. When I started working with Billy I had hit bottom, bounced, and was going for another try. I was a workaholic with less than nothing of a personal life. I was burned out. I was sick all the time. I had zero reserves. My resiliency was shot. Because even the mundane tasks of life seemed impossible, getting out of my current situation felt like a battle I just wouldn’t win, so why bother trying.
And then, I met Billy and, over the next two years, we worked on building up my physical and emotional reserves, and, in essence, getting me a life. It’s a process I continue to this day, implementing the things I learned while working with Billy.
Don’t get me wrong, Billy’s not a guru, and he would object to being cast as one. He doesn’t even take credit for your progress as his client. It’s all your work. It’s all your success. It’s yours to do or not.
What Billy does, at least what he did for me, is to act as a sounding board — but one that talks back. He doesn’t just listen. He doesn’t just talk. He calmly, but persistently, asks you to look at the options you might not be seeing. He suggests that the world is just a tiny bit wider, just a tiny bit more accepting, just a tiny bit less scary than you’ve made it out to be. In fact, he even goes so far as to suggest that living is not the drudgery of making it from day to day. Living is fun. What a concept. It’s something I definitely didn’t see when we started working together, but it’s something I see more and more each day.
What’s my life like today? I’m no longer hovering at the bottom. I’m way more resilient and see life more as an opportunity to grow and change and have fun than a dreary trudge through my responsibilities. I’ve got a widening circle of friends. My work doesn’t define who I am — at least not all the time. I still hate exercise, but have found ways to make it palatable. And, I can go on stressful, tiring business trips and not be sick for a month when I get home.
Progress? Definitely. The end? No way. What my work with Billy also taught me is that as you handle the “stuff” that’s holding you back, keeping you from being happy, you clear the way to attack bigger, higher-level issues in your life. It’s like clearing off your windshield so you can not only see the road ahead, but the trees and the mountains and the beauty along the way.
That’s what Billy helped me do. I can see the trees again. And, what’s more, I want to climb them, set up a fort, and play.
