Workshops For Wellness/Balance
New for 2009: “I’m BUSY” No More – Moving Toward Balance
In 2009, the most common response to “How are you?” is “I’m busy.”
Most people find themselves hungry for more time, greater peace, and a deeper connection to meaning and purpose. Perhaps we can consider that “busy” stands for Badly Unbalanced, Seriously Yearning. What can we do about this sad state of affairs? How can we bring more balance back into our lives? What does it take to feel fully alive and inspired? What would it be like to feel like you are living on purpose and feel the rapture of being alive? In this highly interactive workshop, participants will take three giant steps toward balance. The first will be an exploration of the power of perspectives and how to shift from BUSY to a more energizing and fulfilling perspective. Second, participants will learn the somatic practice of centering as a foundation for living a full and balanced life. Finally, participants will learn how to use the “speech acts” of requests and declines to create more time and space in their lives.
“Leading a Balanced Life: How to Say NO and Other Tricks”
Many busy people struggle to achieve a balanced life. This session shows that the key aspect of balance is one of choice. Through experiential activities, we explore the power of perspectives and look at what clearly saying “yes” or “no” to various alternatives can mean. Participants will learn how to reduce stress by making and declining requests.
